Ordo Apparitorumᅠᅠ #34348002
Description
𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐎 • 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐔𝐌 ORDER OF PUBLIC OFFICIALS The ordo apparitorum consisted of Rome's public officials, most notably its quaestors, notaries, lictors, and clerks. Quaestors were assigned by lot to different magistrates who they were attached to, and they had their own freedmen referred to as scribae who composed the upper-most portion of the ordo with bodyguards, called lictors, who were beneath the scribae in prestige. The viatores and praecones formed the lower ordines of the apparitorial class.
