Description
Following the original settlement Mayflower, the militias of the different towns within the, then colony, of Mayflower were organized into a state wide militia in the year 1636, and has been defending the liberties of the citizens of Mayflower ever since. The Mayflower State Militia, renamed to the Mayflower National Guard in 1903, is commanded by the Governor, who intern appoints an ######## General, who oversees the standards and readiness of the National Guard, and serves as the highest ranking military officer in the state.
