Description
The Galactic Empire, often referred to as the First Galactic Empire, was the cosmic, autocratic regime that succeeded the Galactic Republic following the Clone Wars. Prioritizing the safety of the entire galaxy, the Empire was heavily militarized and authoritarian in its governance. To ensure the security and ongoing stability of the Empire, Emperor Palpatine financed the construction of the Death Star to eradicate all potential threats.
