𝚃𝙷𝙸𝚁𝙳 𝚄𝙽𝙸𝚃𝙴𝙳 𝚂𝚃𝙰𝚃𝙴𝚂 𝙰𝚁𝙼𝚈 𝙸𝙽𝙵𝙾𝚁𝙼𝙰𝚃𝙸𝙾𝙽 The 3rd United States Army was first activated as a formation during the Great War on November 1918, at Chaumont, France, when the General Headquarters of the American Expeditionary Forces issued General Order 198 organizing the 3rd Army and announcing its headquarters staff. On October 1921, the Headquarters and Headquarters Company was constituted in the Organized Reserve as one of six field armies to control the units of the United States Army.
