17th Regiment of Foot "The Tigers" The 17th is a regular regiment of the British Army, originally raised in London in 1688 by Colonel Solomon Richard. In 1757, the regiment was selected for the planned campaign against Québec during the Seven Years' War. After the outbreak of hostilities at the Battle of Lexington and Concord, the regiment embarked for Boston in the fall of 1776. Engagements: Long Island, White Plains, Princeton, Monmouth, Stony Point, Guilford Court House. Regimental cap: 20
