At its core stood the king, supported by a tribal council and a council of elders, which advised on legal, political, and military matters. A war council directed campaigns and defense, while the priesthood, led by figures like Deceneu, wielded significant influence over both law and public life. The tarabostes, the noble class, served as high-ranking officials, military leaders, and regional governors, linking tribal authority to the king. This system balanced noble power, popular counsel, and religious authority, creating a uniquely resilient and organized state among the Geto-Dacians.
