Description
The Onishi Family dates back to the Heian period in the year 1015 CE, where they were appointed as the noble family honored to be the protectors of the deity Ame-no-Koyane as well as the conduit between the spiritual realm and Japan through the executive decision of the Fujiwara clan. Because of this, they were given the surname Onishi, meaning the “Great West.”
