The World Government is a federation of over 170 affiliated nations that governs most of the world. It was founded by an alliance of 20 kingdoms 800 years ago and has since vastly grown in influence. Although publicly the World Government is considered a fair organization that upholds justice by protecting civilians and seeks to create a peaceful and equal world, they are in reality, at their core, a corrupt and oppressive organization, particularly through the application of absolute justice, their suppression of academia and research of history such as the Void Century and Lineage Factor's, the depravity of the aristocratic World noble coupled with distaff ruling hierarchy and the falsification of the Empty Throne.[3][4][5][6][7] It is publicly administered by a governmental council known as the Five Elders but in reality, it is ruled from the shadows by a mysterious sovereign known as Imu.
