It is widely regarded as one of the most critical and anti-establishment newspapers in the country, and many journalists associated with the paper were arrested during Tarquin Soll's purge of political dissidents. It was founded in the wake of the 1927 military coup against Artor Sanaco Wisci, the progressive first President of the Republic of Sordland.
