🌿 𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐉𝐄 𝐁𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐍 On March 16, 1815, Willem Frederik declared himself King Willem I of the Netherlands, officially renaming the Netherlands from the United Provinces to the (United) Kingdom of the Netherlands. 4 days later the Hundred Days campaign began, the Dutch army would contribute a quarter of the Allied forces which were raised to face Napoleon's ill-fated return. The army engaged heavily in both the battle of Quatre Brzas as well as that of Waterloo in which a Dutch bayonet charge broke the 3rd and 4th Grenadiers of the French Imperial Guard leading to the rout of the rest of the Guard then rout of the entire French Army allowing the general allied advance to commence and the French threat to be defeated once and for all. 🕊️ 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐒 .gg/8aGdBbwE8a
