Las fuerzas armadas de la RSI se reorganizaron bajo el mando de oficiales leales al régimen fc de Benito. La RSI intentó reconstituir un ejército eficiente para defender sus territorios y apoyar al Eje en la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Sin embargo, enfrentaron grandes desafíos debido a la falta de recursos, la desmoralización y la oposición de los partisanos italianos.
