United Statés Light Dragoons #34494231
Military & clansENmilitary historyAmerican RevolutionContinental Army
Description
Although never large in number, the regiment earned a reputation for discipline and effectiveness under capable officers who emphasized scouting, security, and quick maneuvering over direct battlefield charges. Their duties often brought them into close contact with both British regulars and Loyalist raiders, giving the dragoons a crucial role in maintaining order and awareness along contested frontiers. By the end of the war, the U.S. Dragoons had become a respected element of the Continental Army, embodying the Army’s early experimentation with mounted warfare.
