Description
Military police (MPs) are law enforcement agencies that are part of a state's military. They perform a variety of duties, including: MPs prevent and investigate crime, and operate confinement facilities. They also ensure that populations and resources are protected and controlled, to create a lawful and orderly environment. MPs may provide support to the main fighting force in wartime operations. This could include force protection, convoy security, screening, rear reconnaissance, and logistic traffic management. MPs may perform security of critical Army resources, crime prevention programs, and preservation of law and order.
