It was ruled as a sovereign nation by the Monarchs of the Green before Vaelon's Conquest. The Verdantlands is the second-largest among the numerous kingdoms of Westoria, its size surpassed only by the Winterlands. The region is renowned as the most fertile and heavily populated area of Westoria, boasting not only a colossal population but also wealth second only to that of the Westerlands. The Verdantlands is also revered as the home of chivalry in Westoria, where knighthood is held in the highest regard and esteemed greatly. The region is able to muster the largest army and the most knights across the entire continent of Westoria, owing to its enormous population.
