" Founded 1973 The Free Republic of Hughesia was established on February 11, 1973, in a region of Southern Pelagoran Africa that had remained unclaimed due to its lack of strategic and economic value by neighboring countries, including ACR, Bobbingham, and Iberia. White settler communities in the area gradually came under the leadership of Aiden Charles Hughes, who organized the political and administrative framework of the emerging nation. Hughes died shortly before the formal declaration of independence, after which the new nation was named in his honor. Independence was proclaimed at Fort Jeremy, which became the capital.
