The British East India Company -circa 1850s Oriental Affairs ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ The East India Company was a private company formed by the British Elite to conduct trading primarily for the company's and the British Empire's own interests in the East Indies. The British were looking to gain a commercial foothold in Southeast Asia by strengthening their relations with colonies of European super powers and the Kingdom of Siam.
