Due to the original name of the AoV combat maps being dubbed 'Nidavellir', so to the Guard embraces that. The Hold Guard is not a traditional Age of Vikings faction, and is created as an extracurricular type group for the additional bonus of appealing to non-aligned and faction-aligned players, and operates with the the implied or explicit support of the various factions throughout the Land.
