As it developed throughout the years, the Initiative learned to contain the anomalous in order to both study it and ensure protection of American settlers moving throughout early America. However, in the 1860s it would encounter problems arising due to its middle-ground during the American Civil War, struggling to continue hiding what dwelled in the Initiatives facilities and bunkers.
