The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is a civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force. It was founded in 1941, just a few days before the attack on Pearl Harbor, with the primary mission of aerospace education, cadet programs, and emergency services, including search and rescue missions. CAP members are volunteers who undergo training in aviation, emergency response, and leadership. They support various missions such as disaster relief, humanitarian assistance, and aerial reconnaissance.
