𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭 — 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐤𝐬 “And Now My Watch Begins | For This Night and All the Nights to Come” ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ The Black Cloaks, also known as the Northern Watch, is a military order dedicated to holding the Wall, the immense fortification on the northern border of the Seven Kingdoms of Westoria, defending the realms of men from what lies in the region known as “Beyond the Wall.” The founding date of the order is unknown; however, it is said to have existed for a multitude of centuries, even before Vaelon's Conquest of Westoria. Members of the Black Cloaks are selected from prisoners in the Winterlands region of Westoria who wish to have a second chance. They take the pledge of loyalty to the Northern Watch “for this night and all the nights to come.” The Black Cloaks have been recorded to have never once in its existence, participate in any warfare or conflict, as their duty is to the wall.
