“𝐀𝐝 𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚” ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ The Waldorf Hotel made its debut on March 13, 1893, at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 33rd Street. Designed by architect Henry Janeway Hardenbergh in the German Renaissance style, the structure stood 225 feet tall. It featured 15 public rooms and 450 guest rooms, along with an additional 100 rooms for staff and laundry facilities located on the upper floors. In 1897, the Astoria Hotel opened nearby on the southwest corner of Fifth Avenue and 34th Street. Hardenbergh returned as the architect for this project, mirroring the German Renaissance aesthetic he had established with the original Waldorf.
