The Chosokabe Clan (長宗我部氏) Tosa Province, Japan · Sengoku Period The Chōsokabe Clan rose to prominence in Tosa Province during Japan’s Sengoku period. Under the leadership of Chōsokabe Motochika, who became clan leader in 1560, the clan expanded its power through a series of military campaigns, eventually unifying the four provinces of Shikoku by 1585.
