The company comprises criminals and abducted civilians from many nations. The band is often called the Bloody Outcasts for their brutality and outlandish appearance, though they find this name insulting. According to historical sources, the Courageous Companions are not as old as other mercenary companies and were established long after Vaelon's Conquest of Westoria. Their numbers, while highly untrained and undisciplined, are many. Their founder was likely, not Easkorian and might have been a member of the White Cloaks exiled during the Valarian Rebellion for their high treason against the Crown of Westoria.
