it is one month after the rise of the United Guest Imperium. decades of persecution, years of brutal city guerilla combat, months of political strife, and a single week of a swift civil war have culminated in the bloody birth of a tyrannical nation. the shockwaves of this historical event still ripple across the world. not here, though. here in the lazy town of brickford, there are no significant mines or metalworks. no major tactical hills or riverbeds to speak of. there's just people here. here, the war was only a single battle fought on the outskirts of the city. the imperium came and went, leaving only a minor garrison happy to look the other way from petty crime. it's quiet here. mostly. even as the rest of the world shatters into disarray---as tensions mount, armies mobilize, and treaties are torn apart---this town is insignificant. the background noise of global pressures mounts day by day but it's quiet here. it's quiet here.
