Republic of Lebanon's Factions ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ During the Lebanese Civil War (1975-1990), several prominent factions played crucial roles in shaping the conflict. The Maronite Christian groups included the Phalange Party, led by the Gemayel family, and the Lebanese Forces, a coalition of Christian militias later led by Samir Geagea. The Syrian Army intervened to stabilize Lebanon, forming the core of the Arab Deterrent Force. Additionally, the Israeli-backed South Lebanon Army, a Christian-led militia, operated primarily in southern Lebanon.
