𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂 𝐎𝐅 𝐙𝐀𝐌𝐁𝐈𝐀 𝟏𝟗𝟔𝟒 - 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭 ━━━━━━━━━━ The Republic of Zambia is a breakaway nation-state which owes it's existance pto the Rhodesian government's refusal to dissolve the unstable Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, which existed until it's eventual collapse in 1964. Since the fall of the Federation, Zambia has been embroiled in a brutal guerrilla civil war for over 20 years. This conflict is against the Northern Rhodesian government, which refused to allow free elections in the country, even after significant concessions were made by the UNIP.
