1st Texas Infantry Battalion #347616602
Description
=-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------= After the events in April of 1861, 10 companies marched off to Richmond from Texas to join the war in the east. The "Ragged Old First" came to the aid and formed their regiment, the 1st Texas Infantry. In October of 1861 them, and the other regiments of the 4th and 5th Texas Infantry regiments formed the Texas Brigade. They were the only Texans who joined the war in the east, they were the brave men who fought through the chaotic war that was brought to their land. =-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------=
