𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐃𝐎𝐌 𝐎𝐅 𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐒 𝘼𝙣𝙣𝙤 𝘿𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙞 𝟳𝟵𝟴 The Kingdom of Asturias is the last remaining Christian realm of the Iberian peninsula in the late 8th century. Bordered by the endless heathen hordes of the Emirate of Cordoba to the south, its hopes of survival are slim. Under the reign of Alfonso II, however, a renewed effort to retake those territories once thought forever lost to the Umayyads has been instilled amongst the people of the realm. After an alliance was struck with Charlemagne’s Frankish realm to the north, revanchist fervor has taken hold of both Asturian Christians and Mozarabs alike.
