Description

Originating in Hungary, House Báthory fled to France and sought refuge under the DeLongpres after an old family legend resurfaced from the 16th Century, angering the people of the country. Their ancestor, Countess Elizabeth was alleged to have bathed in the blood of hundreds of peasant girls killed on the grounds of her castle, to stay young. Rumours fly that the Báthorys are a family of vampires, and they are often accused of such. However, it is written in the DeLongpre Family archives that they appear to be a family of witches instead. The current leader, Duchess Athanasia Báthory is a direct descendent of Elizabeth, many believe that her and her children still engage in the practices which brought ruin to their family name in the first place. Their new family seat in France is Vérpatak Keep.
