Description
As Europe continues to divide itself into various religious factions, the continent braces itself for a European-wide struggle between the Protestants and the Catholics. As the Habsburgs attempt to maintain their power and influence across Germany, Italy, and the Lowlands, the Protestant states wage a war of bitter struggle in an attempt to practice their religions and free themselves from the oppression of the Catholic superpowers. This path would lead to a war that would last from 1618 to 1648, causing the mass destruction of Central Europe's population, the starvation of millions, and the mass killings of thousands more. Will the champions of Catholicism, Spain, and Austria, suppress the Protestant revolts or will the beacons of Protestantism rise to the challenge and bring about an end to Catholic hegemony?
