Description
𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐎: In 1861, the U.S. Senate was thrown into chaos as Southern senators withdrew following secession. The remaining Northern-dominated Senate worked with President Lincoln throughout the Civil War, passing critical wartime legislation in a chamber transformed by the absence of the Southern bloc.
