Description
The Magraviate of Brandenburg and the Duchy of Prussia were both united under a common dynasty, the Hohenzollerns, in 1618 where Brandenburg-Prussia would remain as a rather minor but not irrelevant nation in the Holy Roman Empire. Through the 1600s, Brandenburg-Prussia would engage in diplomacy throughout the Holy Roman Empire, expanding their domains in Western Germany and consolidating small states into their territory. However, due to Brandenburg's rather small army, these gains would cause their forces to be stretched out where Brandenburg would become unprepared for the war to come. As the Habsburgs begin to oppress fellow Protestants in Bohemia, Brandenburg sees itself in an ever more dangerous position near the Austrian Habsburgs border. Brandenburg would make preparations for war, but would it be in enough time to save themselves against a Catholic assault? Only time could truly tell.
