Description
Set during the reign of D. João V, the Royal Court of Portugal is divided among those whose morals are often questioned. Amid beauty and splendor, the court immerses itself in the delights of a new and emerging era. The past is embodied by the court’s elders, those considered “immortals,” even as they live as though still in the previous century. Meanwhile, the bright promise of the future reveals itself through refined pleasures and the emancipation from old customs, embracing a new perspective on life that both challenges and clashes with the old order.
