Description
The Cult of the Fifth Star was one of the oldest known groups worshipping the Cosmic Starfish and a direct predecessor to the First Southern Fifth Church of Georgia. Their practices centered around the ritualistic usage of SCP-2517, a substance that creates falsified memories of fictional friends & relatives and allows the user to perceive the Cosmic Starfish deity itself. According to their beliefs, the erasure of these fictional peopleᅳthose created by these false memoriesᅳwas seen as a form of divine judgment, whereas instead of sending souls to hell, as in traditional beliefs, the Constellation Starfish would entirely erase them from reality, with only their memories left in the minds of the faithful as warnings from the deity. It is believed that the same "erasure" was later adopted by the renowned Fifthist and Archon, "Big Cheese" Horace himself, as one of his reality-bending abilities, which he would use to induct passersby into his congregation.
