Madeline Port Authority Police Department #35020059
Description
The Port Authority of Madeline & Brookshire Police Department was unofficially established in July of 1932 after a group of 10 watchmen were selected by the Port Authority of Madeline & Brookshire to police the Coughlin City Port; now known as the Coughlin City Marine Terminal after a series of cargo thefts. It was officially established in July of 1939 as a result of success by the watchmen in years prior, and the Port Authority of Madeline & Brookshire Police Department was given police powers in both states. Being a business with the properties of an interstate agency, the Port Authority of Madeline & Brookshire enjoys the ability to form its own public services, including a police department. Today, the Port Authority of Madeline & Brookshire Police Department acts as the interstate-level port and transportation law enforcement agency of the Port Authority of Madeline & Brookshire.
