Description

The Australian Federation Guard (AFG) is a ceremonial unit of the Australian Defence Force (ADF), formed in 2001 as part of Australia's Centenary of Federation celebrations. Its primary role is to represent Australia at significant state occasions and national events through military ceremonial duties. The Federation Guard is composed of personnel drawn from all three branches of the ADF: the Royal Australian Army, Royal Australian Navy, and Royal Australian Air Force. These personnel are selected for their proficiency in ceremonial drill, discipline, and public representation. This AFG consists purely of it's army contingency.
