TENNESSEE HIGHWAY PATROL The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is the State Patrol organization for the U.S. state of Tennessee, responsible for enforcing all federal and state laws relating to traffic on the state's federal and state highways. The THP is a division of the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security. RIVER CITY TASK FORCE A newly formed partnership between the Tennessee Highway Patrol and local law enforcement agencies is producing early results in the fight against violent crime in River City, TN. Known as the River City Task Force, the initiative was launched in May to strategically saturate high-crime areas with uniformed officers, focusing on proactive traffic enforcement as a means to disrupt criminal activity.
