Emerging as a branch of House Targaryen, it was founded by Daemon Blackfyre, who was born an illegitimate child to Aegon IV Targaryen. However, his legitimacy would be granted by King Aegon IV Targaryen on his deathbed, a decision that would set the stage for a tumultuous legacy, marking the beginning of centuries of warfare that would terrorize the realm. In 196 AC, House Blackfyre rebelled against the Iron Throne, believing that Daemon Blackfyre was the true King of Westeros. This defiance would become known as the Blackfyre Rebellions, driven by a desire to reclaim their Targaryen legacy. The ensuing battles led to House Blackfyre being exiled from Westeros, though they would return at later dates to claim their true birthright.
