🇮🇹 **THE KINGDOM OF ITALY** 🇮🇹 **1861 — 1946 | THE ITALIAN KINGDOM** 👑 Born from the **Risorgimento**, the Kingdom of Italy was established in **1861**, uniting much of the Italian peninsula under **King Victor Emmanuel II** and the House of Savoy. From its unification, Italy sought to establish itself as a powerful and respected nation among the great powers of Europe. Throughout its existence, the Kingdom developed a formidable **Royal Italian Army** and **Regia Marina**, strengthened its industry, expanded its influence overseas, and took an increasingly important role in European affairs.
