The company was formed to support the Blackfyre dynasty in its quest to reclaim the Iron Throne. Comprised of seasoned soldiers, exiled nobles, and skilled mercenaries, the Golden Company quickly gained a reputation for its discipline and combat prowess. Their iconic golden banner, emblazoned with a three-headed dragon, symbolizes their Targaryen heritage and the group's commitment to restoring the Blackfyre claim to the Iron Throne. Over the years, the Golden Company has participated in numerous campaigns across Westeros, driven by a desire for power and the promise of riches.
