Philippine American War Imperialism by a Country who has gain Independence from the very thing they have fought against? The United States have grown into an eager, land grabbing superpower in the name of "Liberty and Divine providence" set their eyes on the Philippine islands who are fighting against the Spanish Empire for Liberty and Independence. The Americans, eager for more land saw this as an opportunity to help the Filipinos (Katipunan) in their pursuit for independence against the Spainards. With a long, costly war, the United States won over the Spanish and bought the Philippine Colony for only $20 million dollars and now, betraying their Filipino ally, saw to control their newly purchased territory.
