Description
The Donnelly Brothers Militia was founded by Landon Donnelly and his two brothers upon their arrival in Quebec in 1723. Born into a family of hardy frontiersmen, the Donnelly brothers saw the wilds of Canada not as a place of desolation, but as a land of opportunity. The militia was initially created to protect their fledgling settlement against hostile forces, both indigenous and European, as well as wild animals and the harsh environment. The brothers believed that through military discipline, strategic alliances, and sheer determination, they could carve out a place for themselves in this rugged new world.
