“Order is an illusion. Freedom is the objective.” I — THE DEFECTION The Chaos Insurgency emerged from within the ranks of the SCP Foundation. In one of the most commonly referenced accounts, personnel and resources were secretly diverted from the Foundation before the group disappeared from Foundation control. What began as a rogue element eventually developed into an independent organization with its own hierarchy, intelligence network, facilities, and anomalous assets. The Foundation classified the organization as a major hostile threat. The Insurgency considered the Foundation's methods oppressive and believed anomalous objects should not remain exclusively under Foundation control. II — THE INSURGENCY Unlike the Foundation, the Chaos Insurgency does not follow the principle of securing anomalies simply to contain them.
