Description
🌿🕊️ 𝟓𝐭𝐡 "𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬" 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 🕊️🌿 Raised in 1814 with four other regiments destined for the reinstated Dutch colonies of the Western and Eastern Indies, the regiment was called back into European service along with its fellow "Indische" regiments in June, 1815, to defend against Napoleon's invasion of Belgium. From here, the "Indische" regiments would be formed into a proper brigade under the command of Carl Heinrich Wilhelm Anthing, a German field officer who had served the Dutch through the Batavian Republic, the Kingdom of Holland, the French Empire, and then the United Kingdom of the Netherlands.
