Description
Housatonic, Connecticut is a rural town situated in the northwest of the state, the town is situated along the Housatonic River and the Appalachian region. The town borders the areas of Dudleytown (Town of Cornwall) and Sharon. The town includes the Housatonic Meadows State Park. With a population of under 30,000, Housatonic is historically rooted in carpentry, however that industry has been declining. Housatonic is governed by a town council, and is served by the Housatonic Police Department (HPD) and Housatonic Fire and Emergency Medical Services (HFEMS).
