Description
The 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), known as the Night Stalkers, is the United States Army's premier aviation unit specializing in precision rotary-wing operations. Tasked with providing air support to special operations forces worldwide, the 160th SOAR excels in night, low-level, and all-weather missions that conventional aviation units cannot execute. Operating an array of highly modified aircraft—including the MH-60 Black Hawk, MH-47 Chinook, and AH/MH-6 Little Bird—the Night Stalkers conduct a broad spectrum of operations, such as direct action raids, insertion and extraction of special operations forces, aerial reconnaissance, and close air support. The regiment is composed of multiple battalions with distinct mission sets, supported by specialized S-shops that handle intelligence, operations, logistics, and communications. Night Stalkers undergo rigorous training to maintain the highest level of readiness and precision. "Night Stalkers Don't Quit."
