Description
secretly violating the Treaty of Versailles, secretly training with the Soviets, and using public works to build up arms, culminating in the public reintroduction of conscription in 1935 and the renaming of the army to the Wehrmacht, massively expanding it with new divisions, tanks, and an air force (Luftwaffe) while using youth groups for basic training and recalling older officers, defying international restrictions.
