Description

The Garde-Schützen-battalion, or in English known as the Guards Rifles Battalion, was a Prussian infantry unit that first entered the Prussian army in 1807, and were disbanded after the First World War, 1919. It's duties were to work along side the Garde-Jager-Bataillon in reconnaissance and skirmishes as Light Infantry. Before WW1 it was attached to the 3rd Brigade of the 2nd Guards Infantry Division. However at the start of the war it would be transferred to the 2nd Cavalry Division where it was attached as an independent unit until the end of the war and it's disbandment.
