Königliches Leibgarde-Regiment The Königlich Bayerisches Infanterie-Leib-Regiment was the premier infantry regiment of the Royal Bavarian Army and held a status equivalent to the Prussian Guard Regiments. It served as a household regiment, responsible for protecting the Bavarian monarch and serving as an elite combat unit. Founded: 1814 (originally as the "Leibregiment") Garrison: Munich, Bavaria Role: Elite guard infantry unit, serving both ceremonial and frontline combat roles. Allegiance: Directly tied to the Bavarian King, and remained a Bavarian regiment despite integration into the Imperial German Army in 1871.
