It consists of force-sensitive disciples who swear to keep the balance by any means necessary rather than following the path of light or dark. They do not seek peace or serenity like the Jedi, nor do they crave war and violence like the Sith. Instead, they maintain both the light side as well as the dark side, insuring that neither side destroys the other.
